Bilateral Meetings with European Ombudsmen

Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma held bilateral talks with Dutch Ombudsman Reinier van Zutphen, Danish Ombudsman Niels Fenger, as well as Belgian Ombudsmen Jérôme Aass and David Baele in Strasbourg, France. At the meetings, the parties informed each other of the operation of their institutions and the best practices applied at the time of the Covid pandemic.  

Dr. Ákos Kozma gave an account of the activities performed by the six regional offices opened in the country in the first quarter of 2022, and also shared the experience gained at the information points established on the Hungarian–Ukrainian border section and the Budapest-based BOK Sports Hall. The staff of the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights have continuously been working at the affected border section for more than two months, since the outbreak of the Ukrainian war.
