Visit to Border Crossing Point at Alsószölnök

On 18 February 2021, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma paid a visit to the border control post between Alsószölnök (Hungary) and Neumarkt (Austria), where he was received by Chief Police Counsellor, Police Colonel Ferenc Szabó, Head of Western Hungary Border Police Directorate of the Rapid Response and Special Police Services, and Police Lieutenant-Colonel Ernő Knob, Head of Public Safety and Border Police Unit of the Law Enforcement Directorate of the Vas County Police Headquarters.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights inspected the control of traffic passing through the Austrian-Hungarian border, as well as the implementation of the healthcare measures adopted in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, and he was also informed about the current border traffic situation.
