null Participation of Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary in Concluding Session of CPT International Delegation’s Visit

The Council of Europe’s European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) conducted its seventh mission to Hungary between the dates of May 16th and May 26th, 2023.

Upon the culmination of their visit to Hungary, the delegation was received by Dr. Sándor Pintér, the Minister of the Interior. During the concluding meeting, held at the Ministry of the Interior, Dr. Ákos Kozma, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, was also in attendance. Dr. Kozma oversees the domain of the independent national preventive mechanism (NPM).

The CPT is poised to compile a comprehensive report delineating its observations and discoveries stemming from the visit to the nation. This report will encompass instances of torture, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, while also proffering corresponding recommendations.
