The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Visited the Sopronkőhida Strict and Medium Regime Prison

On 13 May 2020, Dr. Ákos Kozma paid a visit to the Sopronkőhida Strict and Medium Regime Prison. Accompanied by Director General of the Hungarian Prison Service Headquarters Major General Dr. Tamás Tóth and acting Prison Commander Colonel István András Fülöp, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights inspected the prison establishment, which has a capacity to house 433 persons. During the visit, the presentation of the preventive measures adopted in connection with the coronavirus pandemic was given high priority.

On 7 May 2020, Dr. Ákos Kozma paid a visit to the Martonvásár Police Station of the Gárdony Police Department, where the head of the Gárdony Police Department, Colonel Dr. János Sági and the head of the Martonvásár Police Station, Lieutenant-Colonel Ákos Kratancsik showed the Ombudsman around.

On 6 May 2020, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights paid a visit to the Komádi Human Services Centre of the Bihar United Social Institution (BESZI). Dr. Ákos Kozma was received by the head of the institution, Mrs. Mihályné Varga and the head of this unit, Mrs. Andrea Nagy-Tarsoly at the 184-bed residential home.

Ombudsman Visited Csanádpalota and Nagylak Border Crossing Points

On 6 May 2020, Dr. Ákos Kozma paid a visit to the Csanádpalota and Nagylak border crossing points. The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights inspected the control of traffic passing through the border, as well as the implementation of the healthcare measures adopted in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
