Ombudsman Monitors School Guards’ Activity in Újpest

On 26 May 2021, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma and the staff members of the Directorate of Police Complaints of the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights paid a visit to the Újpest Bilingual Technical School of Budapest Technical Vocational Centre, where they were received by acting director László Szever.

On 26 May 2021, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma and the staff members of the Directorate of Police Complaints of the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights paid a visit to the Újpest Bilingual Technical School of Budapest Technical Vocational Centre, where they were received by acting director László Szever.

During the visit, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and Dr. Domonkos Wildner, Director for Police Complaints had a conversation with the head of the institution, the school guard on duty, and with the staff members of the school partnership section of the Crime Department of the National Police Headquarters.

In the framework of the school guard system introduced in September 2020, school guards are currently on duty at 522 locations across the country.

The session focused on Report no. B/7848 on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary and his deputies in 2023.
