IOI President and the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary hold coordination talks with Police Chiefs

During his visit to Hungary, the President of the International Ombudsman Institute, i.e. IOI Mr. Chris Field and the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary Dr. Ákos Kozma held coordination talks with Hungarian police chiefs.



Accompanied by the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary Dr. Ákos Kozma, the President of IOI held meetings with Police Brigadier General, Police Superintendent of Hajdú-Bihar County Dr. József Gyurosovics, Police Brigadier General, Police Superintendent of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County József Farkas, as well as Police Brigadier General, Police Superintendent of Somogy County Gábor Molnár. The head of the Police Complaints Directorate of AJBH Dr. Domonkos Wildner also participated in the meetings. 



At the coordination meetings, the efforts taken at the Hungarian-Ukrainian and Hungarian-Romanian border sections, the circumstances of receiving people fleeing the war in Ukraine and the measures taken to help them, the public order and crime situation of the counties, as well as the responsibilities of the police staff serving in the counties concerned were discussed.

The session focused on Report no. B/7848 on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary and his deputies in 2023.
